You’re wedding planning is now underway. Next on your list: engagement session. Capturing your love in front of the camera shouldn’t be hard, but let’s face it – having your photo taken can definitely get your nerves going – especially with your groom. With the right attitude and photographer’s approach, you will be sure to have a successful shoot specific to your style. Before you begin, here are 6 tips from DMPJ Photographers on how to loosen up before your engagement session:
1. Start the day with a game of pool on Landsdowne Street or candlepin bowling at Kings.

2. A beer or wine tasting at your favorite beantown location.

3. Lunch on Newbury Street – with a little shopping for you!

4. Pick a familiar location for your photo session, such as the Boston Public Gardens, that can easily capture you in a private or public way.

5. Make it casual – no one wants to feel gussied up if that isn’t your everyday look.

6. Enjoy the moment and be yourself!
Strike a pose – your groom may just surprise you – even the most reluctant subjects may let their inner model come out. Who knows? At the end of the engagement session you just may be surprised!
